def Mo/W bonettis is a must for energy and a lil less dmg as they cause u 2 miss. i personally dont care cyclone axe or vigours spirit i usualy bring Shield of Judgement or Glads Def. both effectivly hurt enemies taht are attacking u.

If you are a Ranger why not use a pet they would be great . Farming with you and Feral Lunge wiorks wonders agiasnt anything.I was playing with mine in Talus chut it made the Triolls and tundra giant bleed at level 9.

Warrior if you play together with a necro and Mesmer if you play alone.
all in all, I'd say that UW'ing together with a necro is easier, faster and more efficient profit-wise. besides, warrior skill such as Sprint and Above mentioned Bonetti's are more usefull in PvE and PvP.
Age, there is one BiG problem with using pets. that is the fact that pets will aggro mobs you don't want attacking you. playing UW is all about careful aggro patterns, which can under no circumstances be achieved with a pet.

Actually, Mo/Me and Mo/R are both excellent choices. I've never had energy problems myself...
Mo/R the only Ranger skill I use is serpents quickness, and I use blessed aura and spell breaker to get a very nice, long spellbreaker. I'm not really a fan of arcane echo / spellbreaker, but its just my opinion.
Mo/Me I use basically the same setup, but I drop blessed aura for watchful spirit, and I use mantra of resolve. This is for when there are interrupts. Mo/Me is a must for if theres goona be interrupts...
BTW, I use Mo/R running from war camp -> citadel and Mo/Me running from Citadel -> Copperhammer.

There are two reasons to go Mo/Me for a 55hp solo/duo monk. 1. Arcane Echo+SoJ (though you actually recast SoJ long before it would time out or you lose the echo). 2. Sympathetic Visage, doubling up with your N/Me to keep it up all the time. I don't really care for either reason, personally.

Anywho... I always go mo/w when i'm not killing anything... If i'm going to be offensive I'd go n/me, but I'm never offensive with my 55 build. I can run warcamp>citadel>copperhammer>ironmines with a mo/w, and obviously tank just about anything.

This from the guy who tries to sell information that can be found using the search engine.
You know, one day soon all questions and answers about the game will exist somewhere on the GWG database and people like you will criticize every single new post because the answer could be found using the search engine. Could it occur to you that some of us prefer a current conversation instead of opinions that were posted months ago?

I wasn't refferring to the Uw I was referring to the Rock and maybe the 55 Monk build should get it own forum on Guru so you wouldn't have to use the search button and for those that post in Q&A forum about this will know where to go.

again you completely avoid the topic at hand. I tried to help you, though you could easily have searched for it yourself. You ignored everyones help and just complained. I'm starting to think you don't even want help, you're just here to cause trouble.
You're using your own arguments against you. You criticize me for offering my service, saying that people can find everything they need to in the forums. You then continue to post new threads asking questions.
If you had any idea what my training included, you would realize that the skills/attributes that you can find in the forums barely scratch the surface of what my course teaches. I train people hands-on, showing where to go, and how to gather aggro, which is impossible on a forum, without the use of videos.

I'm really suprised no one has said this but: it really depends on exactly what you are farming. I normally switch between either Mo/W or Mo/Me depending on what I'm trying to do.
Mo/W - Underworld, Trolls (sometimes), Grawl, ANYWHERE where there is knockdown. Anywhere where you have to tank an extreme number of things at once.
Mo/Me - Griffons, Ice Imps (would be hell with Mo/W), Trolls (other times), anywhere with a lot of rangers (inturrupts) or creatures using Maelstrom.
No one can say that one single secondary works best for all solo farming. An Mo/Me when there is a lot of knockdown can be hell trying to get archane ecto or SoJ to cast then waiting 45 seconds if you are knocked down and inturrupted.

The spellbreaker monk runner completely owns the ice imps. You can still use a mo/r to run from citadel -> copper/ copper -> citadel. For those that don't know the mo/r running build.
16 divine favour
12 wilderness
1. Serpents Quickness
2.Spellbreaker
3. Storm Chaser
4. Drydar's Defense/ Dodge
5. Purge Conditions
6. Smite Hex/ Holy Veil
7. Blessed Aura
8. Watchful Spirit end it when you are low on health
Back on topic
personally i use warrior as the second profession for UW runs because it is the most user friendly of the choices mo/w, mo/me, mo/r. All you have to do is cast bonettis and wait while the enemies miss and you gain energy.
Its fun going mo/e when your farming griffons, trolls etc. with the combo of shield of judgement, aftershock and crystal wave wrecking havoc upon the mobs.

...or for running: (this would need a few in prot prayers, just play a 55 monk on the run w/spellbreaker)
1. Serpent's Quickness
2. Spellbreaker
3. Storm Chaser
4. Dryder's/Dodge
5. Purge Conditions
6. Smite Hex/Holy Veil
7. Protective Sprit
8. Watchful Spirit (end if low on health)
I dropped Blessed Aura from the build because it's main feature (+20% enchant duration), is useless without an enchantment with a duration. Serpent's Quickness, Storm Chaser, Dryder's/Dodge...all of these are stances. By the description of Blessed Aura, they would not be affected.
Not flaming the above poster, just saying that according to description, BA would be pointless.
UW runs: Mo/W
Bonettis is AWESOME. Just go Bonettis, then when it wears off (make sure you go Breeze + Bonnetsis), use SoJ.

Rofl this made me laugh alot. He is asking a question, he is getting answers, amongst his answers he sees your remark about the search engine. Though this was a seemingly sarcastic remark he took it the wrong way. It appeared, the way he said it, that he had previously had a problem with your academy. Anywho, you didn't capitalize the "a" at the beginning of your statement, but then continue to use excellent grammar the rest of the time. I just noticed that and saw it a good conclusion to my own psycology under-grad rant.
EDIT: Hahaha I forgot to post anything about a monk. Warrior for farming, Ranger for running.

The funny thing is, before he started flaming me I had no contact with Willy at all. There was no previous problem with the academy. Terribly sorry about the lower-case 'a', I'll try harder next time .
I do agree with some of the other posts about mo/r for running, I find sprint (war) to be satisfactory (in place of bonettis) but /r does offer some interesting choices as well.
I think it all boils down to what you're used to. Any sort of running can be done with most of these builds, but they all require extremely fast reflexes and the ability to overcome unexpected problems. If you're confident in your build you can run just about anything and be successful.

I don't know Sno, am not familiar with his *cough* "academy" *cough*, but twice now he has posted into a thread of mine soliciting "students". This is commercial spamming, the same as if he was selling Amway instead of IWAY (haha, pretty good huh?).
Strike two against Sno is his insistence that GWG readers should stop posting and use the search engine. Well guess what, when you search for the best second profession for a 55 monk you get....this thread. See what people would have missed?

I almost completely agree with what Rc The Mad said.
I was always Mo/W farming the troll cave for a few months. Growing intirely to bored with the area, I decided to move to the desert griffons. After having done this, I realised I needed a change of profession. I changed to mesmer shortly after. I now use mesmer for all my farming needs, including 2 man UW farming with a necro/mesmer friend. I use Mantra of Resolve and Arcane Echo in the desert, and remove Echo and replace with the one interrupt that steals energy for UW.
Occasionally, two Dying Nightmares spawn at once, leaving me in a sticky situation, but that doesn't happen often enough for me to remove my beloved Shield of Judgement to bring Spellbreaker.
I have my necro bud Arcane Echo Sympathetic Visage on me and throw in SS as often as possible. And SoJ cleans up.
Oh yeah, I switch between a 19% enchant sword and a 20% fast recharge of smiting skills wand.
It works pretty well.
